Frequently Asked Questions

What is a wax melt? Wax melts are scented pieces of wax designed to be gently heated to release the fragrance. They're like candles but without the wick, meaning that they require a wax warmer to melt and diffuse the fragrance. These don’t disperse so once there is no scent left you will need to remove the wax. How to do so is explained below.
How to use: Remove the wax from it the packaging & place in a wax warmer or burner, I feel my wax throws the scent best in a tea light burner. Always use an unscented four hour tea light, place the wax into the well of the burner... once fully melted you can sit back, relax & enjoy the aroma for hours.

How to remove old wax: Relight a tealight, let the wax melt fully then pop a cotton pad or ball into the well of the burner and let it soak up them dispose off. Wipe clean and pop a fresh piece of wax in. Sit back and enjoy the fragrance.

What can I use my wax melts in? You can use our wax melts in either a tea light wax melt burner or a electric wax melt burner. Please avoid using oil burners (the flame of the tea light will be less than 10cm away from the top of the burner) as wax is not designed to go in there and your wax will become very hot, very quickly meaning you will burn off the scent too fast.

How long should the fragrance last? There is never a definitive answer to this  it depends on a few factors. Tea light burners give a strong scent throw but burn the scent off quicker, you should get around 8 hours of fragrance per use however some last much longer, some oils are more subtle than others. Electric warmers melt the wax slowly without as much heat so may last a lot longer but the scent throw may not be as strong  its a personal preference.

Are your items safe to use around pets?

I am not able to guarantee your pet will not be allergic to any of my wax melts. The majority of pets are fine however but as a pet owner please take great care when using wax melts especially very small animals like birds & small furry animals like hamsters due to their very small respiratory systems.

Do’s & Dont’s! Never leave your burner unattended & always keep well away from children, pets & drafts. Don’t use 8 hour tea-lights in a small burner. Don’t add water to your wax melts, Do always check your burner for cracks before each use. Do enjoy them but please use responsibly.

Are you CLP compliant and insured? Absolutely! Every item I send will have a CLP label attached to the product and I am insured.

What is CLP? CLP is a legal requirement for all scented wax products sold. It lists any allergens that maybe in your wax. The allergens may be different for every scent. There is also the precautionary statements listed on this label. These labels are needed in case of an allergic reaction or in case the wax is accidentally ingested; Its there so your health professional can refer to what allergen is in the melt so they can provide appropriate care. Our number is also listed on these labels in case the health professional needs any further information.
